Telegram Stars are the in-app currency used for paid bots, digital goods, and tipping creators inside Telegram. Most people buy them from the in-app store using a card. That's fine when it works — but it doesn't always work, the prices aren't competitive in every region, and you need a card in the first place.
This post is about the other way: paying in crypto and having Stars land in any Telegram account a few seconds later. No account switching, no linking a card, no exchange withdrawal paperwork.
The short version
You pick how many Stars you want and who should receive them (any @username). You pay in whichever token you already hold — USDT on Tron is the cheapest, but USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL, TON and a few hundred others work too. The Stars show up in the recipient's account within a minute.
No login, no KYC, no Telegram API keys on your end.
Why pay in crypto at all
Three reasons come up repeatedly:
- Regional pricing. The in-app store's local prices vary a lot.
Crypto payment is the same dollar price regardless of where your Telegram account thinks you live.
- No card required. If you don't have a card that works for
in-app purchases (a common story outside the US/EU), crypto is often the only path that doesn't involve someone else's wallet.
- Gifting to someone else. Buying Stars for another user inside
Telegram's own UI is clunky. Sending them as a gift with just a @username is the common case everywhere else.
What the flow looks like
- Open the Donumix app in your browser or directly inside
Telegram.
- Pick a Stars tier (50, 100, 500, 1000 — up to 10k per order).
- Type the recipient's
@username(yourself or anyone else). - You'll see a live quote in USD. Click pay.
- A hosted payment page opens. Pick a token + chain, scan the QR or
paste the address.
- Once the network confirms, the Stars are delivered and you get a
receipt with an on-chain transaction link.
The end-to-end time is dominated by whichever chain you paid on. USDT on Tron is typically under a minute. Bitcoin is… Bitcoin.
What about Premium?
Same idea, different product. Telegram Premium gifts come in 3, 6, and 12 month durations, addressed to any @username. The Premium badge turns on in the recipient's account as soon as the gift is accepted — usually within the same minute.
A note on refunds and failures
Once Stars or Premium are delivered, they can't be reversed — that's a Telegram property, not a policy choice. If a payment comes in but the delivery fails for any reason, the order is retried automatically and, if it still can't complete, you'll hear from support@donumix.com the same day.
Ready to try it? Open the app and pick a tier. If you'd rather read first, there's more in the blog.
